Utah lineman out for the season with torn Achilles tendon

University of Utah officials confirm that offensive lineman Marc Pouvave, a 6-foot-4, 336-pound transfer from Southwestern Community College (Calif.), suffered a torn Achilles tendon on Thursday and will be out for the upcoming season. Pouvave was expected to compete for the starting left tackle position when camp opens next week.

Percy Taumoelau, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior, currently tops the depth chart at left tackle. Pouvave and redshirt freshman Kala Friel (6-4, 305) shared the No. 2 spot.
