School record for Utah's student-athletes

A press release from the Utah sports information department:

SALT LAKE CITY—Utah’s varsity athletics teams posted a 3.072 combined grade point average in the fall semester for the highest recorded GPA in school history. It marked the third semester in a row that Utah’s teams combined for a 3.0 GPA or better, which is another school first.

Twelve teams beat their historical grade point average, with 11 of those earning above a 3.0. Fifty-percent of the student-athletes were above a 3.0 and 23-percent made the Dean’s List, which requires a minimum 3.5 GPA with at least 12 graded hours.

Teams achieving record highs included men’s and women’s skiing and football.
