Eastern Washington star transferring to Utah

Glen Dean, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound guard who led Eastern Washington in scoring and assists the past two seasons, is transferring to the University of Utah. NCAA transfer rules will keep him out of games in 2011-12. After that he’ll have two seasons of eligibility.
“We are very excited to have Glen join our program,” Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak said in making the announcement. “He brings a tremendous amount of success at the Division I level and will have a full year to sit out while learning our system and continuing to improve his individual skill. He is a terrific person, great student and good leader, who we are looking forward to working with.”
Dean, who is from Seattle, was the 2009-10 Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year and a second-team all-conference honoree last season.
