Basketball update: Bahamas and a pair of guards
The Associated Press is reporting that Utah will be among eight teams participating in the inaugural “Battle 4 Atlantis” basketball tournament over Thanksgiving in the Bahamas. New coach Larry Krystkowiak and the Utes will be joined in the eight-team field by defending national champion Connecticut, Central Florida, College of Charleston, Florida State, Harvard, Massachusetts and North Carolina-Asheville. The Nov. 23-27 tournament will take place inside a lavish ballroom – site of the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant.

Utah’s sports information department could not confirm or deny Tuesday night that Krystkowiak has secured a couple of recruiting commitments. Cedric Martin, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard from Lee College in Texas, and Kareem Storey, a 6-foot, 190-pound point guard from the Princeton Day Academy in Maryland, have reportedly accepted scholarship offers to join the Utes.
