Utes finally get Benji Kemoeatu

It took longer than initially expected — more than three years to be exact — but the Utah Utes finally got offensive lineman Benji Kemoeatu to sign on the dotted line. The 6-foot-5, 350-pounder from Kahuku High School in Hawaii turned in a letter-of-intent on Friday. The younger brother of former Utes Ma’ake, Chris and Tevita plans to join the team this summer after completing academic work.
Kemoeatu reportedly gave Utah a verbal commitment in 2008, but opted to sign with West Virginia instead. Kemoeatu, however, never played for the Mountaineers. He played at Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, Pa., in 2009 and comes to Utah as a junior.
