J.J. Williams still not ready
Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said linebacker J.J. WIlliams, who has yet to play this season because of a foot injury, is “looking very questionable for the future” and will not be on the field for the Iowa State game.
“Right now, J.J. Williams’ return is in question. He’s not going to be available this week,” said Whittingham, who was optimistic that the projected starter would make his season debut soon. “It’s not looking good. And so there is really nothing I can say at this point other than we’re just anxiously awaiting when and if he gets back.”
The injury, he explained, has just “continued to linger and hasn’t healed like we had hoped it would.”
