Wednesday practice report

To accommodate 200 “Ute Conference” little league football players, who observed things and then interacted with the team, Utah practiced at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Wednesday.
Quarterback Jordan Wynn said everyone flew around and the session had a good tempo.
“I thought we had a real good practice today,” he noted while telling reporters that the Utes are staying focused.
“You can’t let the bye week kind of lull you to sleep,” Wynn said. “You’ve got to keep working hard.”
After a practice on Thursday, head coach Kyle Whittingham is giving the players three days off.
The Utes will resume preparations for the Oct. 9 game at Iowa State on Monday.
Wynn, who is heading home to Oceanside, Calif., for the weekend, is mindful of something his high school coach is fond of saying: “If you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse because everyone else is getting better.”
It’s a mentality, he added, that the Utes have taken into their only bye week of the season.
