Wednesday practice report

Perhaps it was a good sign. Seconds after concluding practice Wednesday, heavy rains fell at the University of Utah.
Besides beating the storm, head coach Kyle Whittingham noted that the Utes “got a lot of work done.” On Thursday, they’ll take the pads off and polish things up for Saturday’s homecoming game against San Jose State.
As for the quarterback situation, Whittingham said there were “no updates” on whether Terrance Cain or Jordan Wynn would be the starter. Wynn had another good practice, feeling no pain on deep throws or handoffs. He’s missed Utah’s last two games – wins over UNLV and New Mexico – because of a thumb sprain on his throwing hand.
