Wynn ready to go

Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn’s sprained thumb on his throwing hand has apparently healed. He threw deep passes and even endured a hit on it in practice Tuesday and all was well.
Well enough to start Saturday against San Jose State?
“Yeah. It feels pretty good,” Wynn said. “We’ll continue just seeing how it goes as the week goes on.”
Head coach Kyle Whittingham announced that the Utes will not name a starter this week – leaving San Jose State to prepare for both Wynn and Terrance Cain, who has started the past two games.
He did, however, make it clear that Wynn will likely see action against the Spartans.
“There’s a good chance,” he said. “Yep, there’s a very, very good chance he’ll play Saturday.”
Wynn was just as coy about it.
“We’ll see. That’s up to the coaches,” he said. “I’m just going to go out and do what I can to get better, get ready for San Jose.”
In other injury news, Whittingham said center Zane Taylor and defensive end Derrick Shelby will play this week. Both players missed the New Mexico game.
