Wynn takes snaps in practice Monday

Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn, who sprained the thumb on his throwing hand in Thursday’s 27-24 overtime win over Pittsburgh, took snaps in practice Monday. He did not, however, throw any passes while wearing a protective wrap.
Wynn directed specific questions about his injury to head coach Kyle Whittingham, who confirmed the quarterback’s “day-to-day” status.
“That’s pretty much the long and short of it,” he said. “It’s a thumb and we’re taking it day-by-day.”
Wynn is determined to play Saturday against UNLV.
“Definitely. That’s always the goal,” he explained. “I’m trying like (heck) to get ready. So we’ll see.”
If for some reason Wynn isn’t able to play, Whittingham expressed confidence in back-up Terrance Cain.
“If his number’s called he’ll be ready to go.”
