Football camp: Day 6 (PM)

As usual, practice went about a half hour long as the offense got in a lot of work, including some two-minute drills. Coach Kyle Whittingham was pleased with the quarterbacks in particular and he praised both Jordan Wynn and Terrance Cain. Perhaps the most impressive pass play of the afternoon was a 45-yarder from Cain to freshman Griffin McNabb, who got behind the defense and went into the end zone untouched.
The Utes had about 10 players in “the pit,” too injured to practice, but still stretching and working out with supervision. The most prominent were offensive tackle John Cullen, who bruised his knee in the morning practice and receiver DeVonte Christopher, who also hurt his knee in the morning. Cullen is listed as “day-to-day,” while Christopher may be out as long as a week.
Thursday morning’s scrimmage will run about 90 plays with second- and third-stringers getting the majority of the reps. Two-a-days will crank back up on Friday and will also be held next Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
