Football camp: Day 1

Utah opened camp with a two-hour session in helmets and shorts on the practice fields Thursday afternoon. Highly touted junior college transfer John Cullen, who is competing for the starting left tackle job, said the pace and number of reps was “eye opening.”
Head coach Kyle Whittingham said some of the standouts included wide receiver Reggie Dunn, defensive tackle James Aiono, defensive end Joe Kruger and running back Lucky Radley.
Whittingham noted that all of the returning guys also looked good in the first practice. He mentioned, in particular, the efforts of defensive tackle Sealver Siliga and nose tackle Dave Kruger, as well as quarterbacks Jordan Wynn and Terrance Cain.
