California corner chooses Utes, Pac-10

Ryan Henderson, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound cornerback from Rancho Verde High School in Moreno Valley, Calif., has given the University of Utah an early recruiting commitment. He plans to sign a letter of intent in February and join the Utes next summer.
“The Pac-10 definitely had a big impact on my decision,” said Henderson, who was determined to play in the league. His hometown is just one hour away from Los Angeles.
The combination of Utah’s program and the new conference affiliation led to Henderson’s decision to choose the Utes over Oregon and Miami (Fla.)
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
