Utes add two more commitments
Utah football picked up a pair of recruiting commitments on Tuesday.
Eric Rowe, a 6-foot-2, 174-pound safety from Klein High School in Texas, and Hunter High’s Tevita Bloomfield, a 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker/H-back, are the latest additions to the Class of 2011.
Both players, who plan to join the program next summer, said they weren’t swayed by the Utes’ move to the Pac-10.
“That’s just a bonus,” said Bloomfield, who acknowledged staying close to home was a big thing for him.
So, too, was Utah’s coaching staff. He called the coaches “outstanding” and credits them for making him feel comfortable.
Utah State, BYU and Oregon were other schools Bloomfield considered.
Rowe also had positive things to say about the coaching staff. Other variables in his decision include the environment, atmosphere, city and campus.
Utah’s move to the Pac-10 in 2011, Rowe said, is “a good thing.” However, he didn’t have a problem playing in the Mountain West Conference, either.
Rowe said Purdue and Louisville were other schools he considered.
