Ute recruit Lee leads team to finals

Coach Jim Boylen had a busy week, spending a few days in Kansas at the NJCAA tournament, looking mostly at point guards, then going to New York to be on the air with CBS-College Sports coverage of the NCAA tournament. He finished the week in the Bay area, doing some recruiting and checking on Ute recruit Dominique Lee, who helped lead his team to the CIF Div. IV regional title with 8 points and 11 rebounds in a 52-49 overtime victory. A week earlier the 6-4 Lee had 15 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots in a 58-44 victory. St. Mary’s will next play in the CIF state championship game Friday night in Bakersfield.
Still nothing to report on specific players leaving Ute program, but it won’t include any key players the Utes are counting on for the future. We may get an official announcement sometime this week.
