Utes have good opportunity for a pair of wins

Coming off a pair of solid performances, four actually, the Utah basketball team should be in line for a win Wednesday night at Cline Arena against Air Force. The Utes have beaten TCU on the road, UNLV at home and lost close games to New Mexico at home and San Diego State on the road. Air Force isn’t nearly as good as the aforementioned teams, but their close loss to New Mexico Saturday got the Utes’ attention and they’ll be ready. And the way the Utes have played this year, they shouldn’t overlook anybody.
If the Utes can get a win Wednesday night, they should have an even easier game Saturday against a Wyoming team that is reeling with seven straight losses since beating Utah in Laramie. That would put the Utes back to even at 14-14 and 7-7 going into the big game against arch-rival BYU next Wednesday. The Utes could move into fifth place in the MWC standings with Colorado State on a three-game losing streak and playing at TCU Saturday.
