Utes in San Diego

SAN DIEGO — They’re here.
The Utes arrived in San Diego Saturday morning. They came in two waves. The first charter flight featured most of the coaching staff and the defense, while the second included the offense and special teams.
Weather-related delays in Salt Lake City brought them to sunny San Diego about an hour later than planned.
Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said the entire team made the journey.
A practice is scheduled for this afternoon at San Diego State. After that, the Utes will be greeted at the team hotel by the bowl committee (sporting red blazers), a mariachi band and a red carpet.
On Sunday, they’ll visit Sea World.

Injured running back Matt Asiata declined to comment on his future. He wouldn’t even confirm if an announcement will come after the bowl game as Whittingham previously indicated.
