Will it be viva Las Vegas?
Tina Kunzer-Murphy, executive director of MAACO Bowl Las Vegas, is writing a weekly blog at www.lvbowl.com. In her latest entry, she discussed the Mountain West Conference situation for the Dec. 22 game.
“With TCU downing New Mexico, the Horned Frogs are now guaranteed a spot in the BCS. That means the MWC entry in this year’s MAACO Bowl Las Vegas will be either BYU or Utah,” she wrote. “The Cougars continued to rebound after their loss to the Horned Frogs earlier this month by fighting off the Utes on Saturday in Provo, 26-23 in overtime. Both teams from the Beehive State would be great representatives for this year’s game. We’ll see what happens when we make our official announcement on Sunday.”
The Pac-10 will provide the opposition. That league’s representative won’t be known until games are played later this week.
