Neal to transfer

Sophomore linebacker Mo Neal, who hasn’t played in a game this season after being suspended indefinitely for his involvement in a bar fight over the summer, plans to transfer at mid-year. Neal’s court case was resolved on Tuesday.
“He thinks it’s in his best interest to go back to California,” said Utah coach Kyle Whittingham, who wasn’t sure where the former Oakland-area prep star would land.
“We’re appreciative of what he did for our program while he was here,” Whittingham continued. “We wish him all the best and support him in his decision.”
Neal, who is still in school and practicing with the Utes, appeared in nine games last season as a redshirt freshman and made nine tackles.
