Asiata getting better

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham acknowledged that running back Matt Asiata’s carries in Saturday’s 31-24 loss at Oregon were limited because of his injured shoulder. The senior wound up with 54 yards on 15 rushes.
“He came out of it OK,” said Whittingham, who added that after treatments on Sunday Asiata will be much healthier for the upcoming Louisville game.
Asiata, he noted, took no steps backward.
Whittingham said that if Asiata was 75 percent against the Ducks, he’ll be more like 85-90 percent this week.
In other injury news, running back Sausan Shakerin will likely be sidelined until after the upcoming bye week with a sore shoulder. He was scheduled to have more tests on it today.
Defensive lineman Latu Heimuli had successful surgery on his broken foot.
