While Utah coach Kyle Whittingham was speaking with the media after practice, defensive end Koa Misi was being evaluated by team doctors. The senior, a preseason all-conference honoree, suffered what was initially described as back spasms late in Wednesday night’s practice.
“RIght now we’re still hoping for the best,” Whittingham said. “We’ll find out later today, hopefully, where he’s at.”
EXTRA POINTS: Offensive lineman Walter Watts hyperextended his left knee this morning, but is expected to be OK . . . Whittingham said wide receiver John Peel, running back Matt Asiata and linebacker Stevenson Sylvester were the standouts in practice . . .
