Camp update: Louks sees action at safety
Saturday morning’s practice was moved indoors because of rain.
The weather, however, failed to dampen the enthusiasm of Corbin Louks. A day after being relegated to No. 3 on the quarterback depth chart, Louks took some reps at free safety.
“Right now, like I’ve said earlier, I’m just testing my options and seeing how this works out,” he said.
Louks acknowledged he had fun and drew positive reviews from teammates and coaches.
A best-case scenario would likely have Louks taking a redshirt year to learn the position and then stepping into a vacancy created by the graduation of starting safeties Robert Johnson and Joe Dale.
Louks, though, is still keeping his options open and said he may try other things before making a final decision on his future.
