Star chooses Utah

Star Lotulelei, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive lineman from Snow College, has given the University of Utah an early recruiting commitment. The former Bingham High star originally signed with BYU before enrolling in junior college. He’s expected to complete his sophomore season with the Badgers before joining the Utes in 2010.
Lotulelei cited the proximity to home and Utah’s coaching staff and program as the major factors in his decision. He accepted the Utes’ offer over one from Oregon State. Utah State also expressed strong interest.
The switch from BYU to Utah, Lotulelei insists, wasn’t all that difficult.
“Not really,” he said. “I actually like Utah a lot better.”
