Friday night’s inaugural United Football League draft included three former Utes. Quarterback Brian Johnson was taken by New York, while offensive guard Jason Boone and nose tackle Gabe Long were selected by Las Vegas. The latter is coached by former U. boss Jim Fassel. The new pro league hopes to kick off this fall. The organization’s web site (www.ufl-football.com) lists Salt Lake City, specifically Rice-Eccles Stadium, as home to a possible franchise in 2010.
