Ute basketball is 8 for 8 under Boylen

Right before the University of Utah graduation ceremony Friday morning at the Huntsman Center, Utah coach Jim Boylen will pose for pictures with eight senior graduates.
Eight?
That’s right. Besides five graduates from this year’s team — Luke Nevill, Shaun Green, Lawrence Borha, Tyler Kepkay and Jonathan Downie — the three graduates from last year’s team — Johnnie Bryant, Chris Grant and Sayre Brennan — will join them.
“We didn’t get any pictures last year,” Boylen said.
Although he can’t take all the credit, Boylen can be proud of the fact that eight of eight possible players graduated his two years.
Also, in the NCAA figures released Wednesday, the U. basketball team has an APR number of 964, which ranks it in the 70 to 80 percentile range among Division I basketball teams. That number is up considerably from three years ago when it was in the mid-800s (925 is minimum number to not be in trouble) because of academic and graduation problems of the Rick Majerus and Ray Giacoletti regimes.
