Utes happy to be ranked again
During Jim Boylen’s weekly press conference Monday, Utah director of basketball operationa Jon Dykema got up out of his seat on the second row and walked over to Kyle Harris, the Utah basketball SID. When there was a pause in the questioning, Harris announced that the A.P. rankings had just come out and the Utes had made the top 25 at No. 25.
Boylen smiled, raised his two arms in the air and said, “We made it, we made it.” He did in sort of a mocking way, but he said it was one of the goals he set for his program along with winning a conference championship and a tournament championship. The Utes had already accomplished the latter two goals, so the top 25 seems to pale in comparison. However, it was still something else for the Utes to celebrate this year. It marks the first time the Utes have been ranked since the 2005 season.
