Some Boylen quotes from the post-game press conference

With an extremely tight deadline last night, we weren’t able to get any quotes from the postgame press conference in the paper. So here are a few interesting quotes from coach Boylen after the 68-55 victory over Wyoming.
On the motivation of winning Saturday afternoon against a more-desperate San Diego State team:
“We’re very thankful for our regular season championship. But we’d like to get one by ourselves. If that’s not enough motivation, then we’re in trouble. So that’s what I talk about. We’d like to put ourselves in the position to get one by ourselves and also improve our seed.”
When talking about center Luke Nevill, who dominated Friday’s game with 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocked shots:
‘The one thing about Luke I’ll say is our team became a team when he became a teammate. Our team became a team when he committed to the defensive end of the floor about halfway through last year. And that’s the difference in our team, is that.”
When a Las Vegas TV reporter asked Boylen how big it would be for the basketball team to join the football team with championships the same season:
“We already did, didn’t we? Didn’t we already double up?.
When the reporter clarified by saying the “tournament championship” Boylen said, “Itwould be great. It would be huge for us. We have a terrific place. We have a lot of very good coaches at our school. Gymnastics is terrific. Volleyball is terrific. Our women’s team is awesome. So we’ve got a lot to be thankful for at Utah. We’ve got a great place. I’m proud to be the coach there.”
