Ute opponents are having good seasons

Utah has moved up to No. 11 in the latest RPI rankings on the daily RealTime RPI list.
A big reason for the Utes’ high rating is their strong schedule, which is ranked No. 12 in the country. Ever since last summer the Utes have been bragging about their strong schedule, but it’s turned out to be even stronger than expected.
Gonzaga, which Utah beat in late December is unbeaten in the WCC and 17-5 overall.
LSU, a team Utah beat by 30, is 19-4 and leading the SEC West with a 7-1 mark.
Mississippi, another SEC team Utah beat by 11, is third in the West, 13-10 overall and beat Kentucky last month.
Wisconsin-Green Bay, a team Utah defeated by 19 points, is second in the Horizon League, 19-6 overall and coming off a big upset win over Butler last week.
Morgan State, a team Utah beat by 29 in Florida, leads the MEAC with a 7-2 record.
Weber State, another Ute victim is 15-8 overall and in first place in the Big Sky at 9-1.
Among the teams the Utes lost to are No. 3 Oklahoma, which is 23-1, Utah State (23-1) and Cal (18-6).
Sure, the Utes played some teams that didn’t turn out to be so great, like Oregon and Missouri State, but they’ve played enough good teams to help them greatly in their quest to make the NCAA Tournament.
