Extra points: Utah football
Utah coach Kyle Whittingham is looking forward to the upcoming parade in Salt Lake City to honor the undefeated Sugar Bowl champion Utes.
“I think it’ll be a great way to honor our team and our players deserve it,” he said. “All the accolades that come their way, they deserve.”
Whittingham said he hopes to wrap up his search for a new offensive coordinator by mid-January. However, he’ll take longer if feels the need to do so. A new offensive line coach won’t be hired until the o.c. is in place. Whittingham said the new coordinator should have a say in the hiring.
On the player front, Whittingham said that quarterback Brian Johnson and wide receiver Brent Casteel could end up in postseason all-star games. As of now, however, only Louie Sakoda (Senior Bowl) has been officially invited.
