Q & A: The Blackout

Thursday’s “Blackout” at Rice-Eccles Stadium is apparently confusing some fans. As a community service, I’ll try to clear things up. The following inquiries are true . . . as far as you know.

Question #1 (fielded by the Utah football office):
Is it OK if I wear my red Utah hat with my black shirt to the game?

Answer: Yes. And please don’t forget to also wear pants, shoes and socks. A jacket would also be advised.

Question #2 (fielded by the Deseret News sports desk):
Why is the game being blacked out? I wanted to watch it on television.

Answer: You can, sort of. The game will be broadcast on something called CBS College Sports Network (formerly known as something called CSTV) live at 6 p.m.

Question #3 (asked by a KSL news anchor to Tom Kirkland on the air Wednesday):
What are they going to do with the black uniforms after the game?

Answer: Wash them, I hope.

That’s all for now. Enjoy the game.
