Public can see Ute BB team Thursday night

Lost in the excitement surrounding Utah’s 8-0 football team and its No. 11 BCS ranking is the start of Utah basketball.
The Utes’ first official game is still three weeks away, but local fans can get their first look at this year’s team Thursday night at the Huntsman Center.
Fans who haven’t liked the idea of watching the Utah women’s team get equal billing with the men will be happy it will be men only Thursday with an appearance by women’s coach Elaine Elliott, but not her players.
They’re calling it the “JimmyBall Scrimmage” and it begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
There will be two 15-minute halves with a running clock and a five-minute halftime so it could be over in an hour.
Joining eight returning lettermen, led by seniors Luke Nevill, Shaun Green, Lawrence Borha and Tyler Kepkay are five freshmen.
