Johnson keeps getting it done

There are two ways to look at Brian Johnson’s six interceptions this season. A popular perspective is that the senior needs to stop completing passes to the other team. The other? Well, the Utes are 6-0 in games where Johnson has been picked off in 2008.
The latter, obviously, doesn’t make any sense.
However, the same can be said of the criticism Johnson is receiving for his miscues — which also include fumbles.
Fact is, Utah is 14-1 since Johnson reclaimed his starting job following Utah’s loss at UNLV last year. His aggressive play is a major reason why the Utes have enjoyed such success.
In Thursday’s 31-28 win over Oregon State, Johnson directed two late scoring drives.
“Brian Johnson really came through for us,” said Utah coach Kyle Whittingham.
Though far from mistake-free, it’s something the Texan has done fairly consistently now over a span of 15 consecutive games.
