Practice gets LOUD

It sounded like thousands of fans were inside the Ute practice facility Monday afternoon as the Utes started their game-week practice schedule. But it was just a recording of a crowd turned up several decibels.
While the defense practiced outside against the scout team, the offense played inside the Eccles Center and tried to run their offense with the volume turned up full blast. It was loud standing outside the building, so it must have been extra loud for those inside trying to play. For the last part of practice, the defense also went inside and experienced some of the noise. Then everyone came back outside and ran a few wind sprints.
“We’re doing the best we can to simulate what we’re going to face,” said coach Kyle Whittingham.
He said the practice went well and as far as he could tell no one got injured. Whittingham said 10 walk-ons were added Monday, which is allowed now that school has started at the U. and he expects to add a couple more next week.
Of course there’s nothing new on the Aiona Key saga and Whittingham acknowledged that his staff is in daily contact with the missing receiver.
