Let's go

Ready or not, football season is here.
After spending much of the past two weeks dropping coin on family vacations to Disneyland, Las Vegas, New York City and Washington, D.C., I’m eager to get back on the clock.
Well, not really.
Any who, here we go.
As part of a story that will appear in Sunday’s print edition, I spoke with Kyle Whittingham today and he confirmed that he expects junior college transfers David Reed and Aiona Key to be in camp. Both had academic requirements to complete. Reed is in town and Key is expected to arrive early next week. Tight end Dudley LaPorte is looking like a January enrollee.
Another interesting tidbit is the decision to move guard Neli A’asa to tight end. Remember his 41-yard reception from Louie Sakoda on a fake punt in last year’s win over Wyoming?
At 6-foot-2 and 305 pounds, he’s obviously a tough guy to tackle.
