Another Mr. Football joins the Utes
Robby “Boo” Andersen is the latest Deseret News Mr. Football to sign with the University of Utah football program. Andersen, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker, signed a financial aid agreement with the Utes and is already enrolled in the summer bridge program — meaning he’s moved into the dorms, is enrolled in classes and is working out with the team.
Andersen, who is not related to Utah defensive coordinator Gary Andersen, had some grade issues to clear up and was unable to sign a latter-of-intent of February.
His lifting partner is former Alta teammate Sausan Shakerin, the 2006 Deseret News Mr. Football. The ex-Hawks join Tooele’s Kyle Brady (2002) and Highland’s Morgan Scalley (1997), as well as former Skyline stars Steve Tate (2000) and Bo Nagahi (1999), as award winners who signed with the Utes.
Editor’s note: A more detailed story will appear in Sunday’s Deseret News.
